The system
- Pigment blending to match any color (deep teal, copper-on-bronze, mother-of-pearl, ocean blue, just-black)
- Torch and notched-trowel finishing for the swirled stone look
- Polyaspartic or polyurethane topcoat within the resin’s chemical window
- Engineered for lifetime adhesion on residential installations
What it costs
Square footage, slab condition, and how much custom color blending the pour calls for. Commercial numbers scale with substrate prep and topcoat spec. You get a fixed-price proposal, not a range.
How long it takes
A standard two-car garage runs two to three working days. Larger residential or commercial pours can run four to five days.
How long it lasts
Engineered for lifetime adhesion on residential. The gloss layer can be refreshed at the 8-to-12-year mark on heavy-use floors. Commercial systems are spec’d 10-25 years.
Where this fits
Residential garages, basements, retail showrooms, custom restaurants, anywhere the floor is supposed to be the visual centerpiece.
How a metallic epoxy floor actually gets poured.

01 Walkthrough
Owner on site. Moisture test of the slab. Photos of existing cracks. Palette options walked in person. Proposal in your inbox next morning.

02 Diamond grind
Surface prep to CSP-3 profile, HEPA vacuum, rapid-set polyurea on crack lines, re-grind. Where every floor lives or dies.

03 Pour
Resin mixed on site, broadcast or swirled to match the system. Signature work happens here. Notched-trowel finish before the working window closes.

04 Topcoat
Polyaspartic or polyurethane within the resin chemical window. Walkable 24 hours, full traffic 72 hours. Written job spec before we leave.
Where we install metallic epoxy.
We pour metallic epoxy across all of our service areas: Los Angeles County, Orange County, the Inland Empire, San Diego County, Ventura County, Kern County, and Santa Barbara County. The system itself is the same across cities. Substrate prep adjusts to local concrete age and moisture conditions.

Three rules we do not break on a metallic epoxy install.
A floor that fails by year three was usually rushed on prep day, long before any resin got mixed. The rules below are how we avoid that, and they hold on every install regardless of budget.

01. Calibrated moisture testing
Calcium chloride or relative-humidity sleeve test on every metallic epoxy substrate before we order resin. If the vapor emission rate is above manufacturer spec, we apply a moisture-mitigation primer at our cost rather than gamble on the topcoat bond. Skipping this is the most common cause of the failed coatings we get called in to re-prep.

02. Diamond grind to spec
CSP-3 minimum for residential metallic epoxy, CSP-4 for high-build commercial. Shot blasting and acid etching are cheaper shortcuts that fail the resin manufacturer’s adhesion spec. We grind, HEPA-vacuum, polyurea-fill every visible crack, and re-grind. The prep day is the day the floor lives or fails.

03. Spec sheet with the resin maker named
Every metallic epoxy proposal we write names the resin manufacturer, the topcoat product, the substrate prep depth, the cure window, and the maintenance schedule. If a competitor’s proposal does not name these, you are buying on faith, not specs. Full liability and workers’ comp on every job.
Questions before the call.
What does metallic epoxy cost in Los Angeles?
Residential pricing for metallic epoxy in the Los Angeles market typically runs between the ranges quoted on our service pages, with the exact number determined by substrate condition, finish system, and square footage. Commercial pricing is always project-specific.
It depends on your slab, so we price it in person. The walkthrough costs nothing and takes about half an hour. The next morning you get a fixed price by email, and that number holds through the pour.
How long does metallic epoxy take to install?
Two to three working days covers the usual residential job from prep to topcoat. Commercial floors can take four to fifteen days, depending on how big they are, what shape the slab is in, and the system they call for.
Vehicles and rolling loads stay off for 72 hours after the last coat. People can walk across the floor after the first 24.
How long will my metallic epoxy last?
A resinous floor system bonds chemically to the concrete under it. On residential floors, that adhesion is engineered to last the life of the slab.
The polyaspartic topcoat can be refreshed at the 8-to-12-year mark on heavy-use residential floors. The base resin stays bonded. Commercial systems are spec’d to traffic and chemistry; typical lifespan is 10-25 years on the resin layer.
Can you match a specific color?
Any color works in metallic epoxy, since the pigments mix across the full spectrum. Just-black and mother-of-pearl are both floors we have poured.
Quartz has 14 standard colors, and we can mix a custom one if none of them fit. Flake works the same way: start from a pre-blended pack or build your own blend. On decorative concrete, color is either mixed into the pour or stained on after it cures.
How does the install process actually work?
It ends with you and us on the floor together for a final inspection, and a written job spec in your hands before the crew leaves. Getting there takes four stages: the walkthrough and a moisture test, then diamond grinding to CSP-3 with any crack repair, then the pour and broadcast, and last the polyaspartic topcoat.
What happens after the floor is poured?
Keep the written job spec we hand you at the final walk. If the gloss layer ever needs a refresh, that sheet tells us what is already on the floor.
Upkeep is a mop and a bucket of water. The topcoat carries the protection, so you never roll on sealer or schedule a yearly wax.
What makes Concrete 2 Coatings different from other contractors?
Look at a coating that failed early and you will usually find a prep step that got skipped. Ours does not change from job to job: diamond grinding to a CSP-3 profile, a HEPA vacuum pass, then a second grind, with the owner on site. Add licensing and training across resin, decorative concrete and structural work, which most LA shops never take on.
