What industrial epoxy actually is.

Common in food processing plants.

Heavy-duty industrial epoxy and urethane cement systems for environments that destroy normal floors. Chemical plants, food processing, manufacturing, anywhere the floor takes a beating from impact, temperature swing, or aggressive chemistry.

The system

  • Urethane cement systems for thermal-shock environments
  • High-build epoxy (40-80 mils) for heavy impact
  • Chemical-resistance matrices: acid, alkali, solvent, hydrocarbon
  • Integral cove base options for sanitary specifications

What it costs

Project-specific. Substrate prep and chemistry spec drive the number.

How long it takes

Four to fifteen working days depending on system thickness and prep requirements.

How long it lasts

15-25+ years.

Where this fits

Food processing plants, chemical manufacturing, automotive assembly, breweries, dairy operations, pharmaceutical production.

On-site walkthrough and slab inspection

01 Walkthrough

Owner on site. Moisture test of the slab. Photos of existing cracks. Palette options walked in person. Proposal in your inbox next morning.

Diamond-ground substrate ready for resin

02 Diamond grind

Surface prep to CSP-3 profile, HEPA vacuum, rapid-set polyurea on crack lines, re-grind. Where every floor lives or dies.

Industrial Epoxy pour day in progress

03 Pour

Resin mixed on site, broadcast or swirled to match the system. Signature work happens here. Notched-trowel finish before the working window closes.

Polyaspartic topcoat applied over a cured pour

04 Topcoat

Polyaspartic or polyurethane within the resin chemical window. Walkable 24 hours, full traffic 72 hours. Written job spec before we leave.

Where we install industrial epoxy.

We pour industrial epoxy across all of our service areas: Los Angeles County, Orange County, the Inland Empire, San Diego County, Ventura County, Kern County, and Santa Barbara County. The system itself is the same across cities. Substrate prep adjusts to local concrete age and moisture conditions.

Three rules we do not break on a industrial epoxy install.

Whether a floor lasts 15 years or starts failing at year three gets settled on prep day, before anything is mixed. Budget does not change the list below. Every job gets all of it.

Calcium chloride moisture meter test on a residential slab

01. Calibrated moisture testing

Calcium chloride or relative-humidity sleeve test on every industrial epoxy substrate before we order resin. If the vapor emission rate is above manufacturer spec, we apply a moisture-mitigation primer at our cost rather than gamble on the topcoat bond. Skipping this is the most common cause of the failed coatings we get called in to re-prep.

Diamond-ground concrete substrate ready for resin

02. Diamond grind to spec

CSP-3 minimum for residential industrial epoxy, CSP-4 for high-build commercial. Shot blasting and acid etching are cheaper shortcuts that fail the resin manufacturer’s adhesion spec. We grind, HEPA-vacuum, polyurea-fill every visible crack, and re-grind. The prep day is the day the floor lives or fails.

Finished metallic epoxy floor with written job spec

03. Spec sheet with the resin maker named

Every industrial epoxy proposal we write names the resin manufacturer, the topcoat product, the substrate prep depth, the cure window, and the maintenance schedule. If a competitor’s proposal does not name these, you are buying on faith, not specs. Full liability and workers’ comp on every job.

Questions before the call.

What does industrial epoxy cost in Los Angeles?

Residential pricing for industrial epoxy in the Los Angeles market typically runs between the ranges quoted on our service pages, with the exact number determined by substrate condition, finish system, and square footage. Commercial pricing is always project-specific.

It depends on your slab, so we price it in person. The walkthrough costs nothing and takes about half an hour. The next morning you get a fixed price by email, and that number holds through the pour.

How long does industrial epoxy take to install?

A standard residential pour runs two to three working days from prep to final topcoat. Larger residential or commercial pours can run four to fifteen days depending on system spec, substrate condition, and square footage.

You can walk on it 24 hours after the last coat of polyaspartic goes down. Give it 72 hours before vehicles or heavy equipment roll on it.

How long will my industrial epoxy last?

The base layer is meant to stay where we put it. Resinous systems form a chemical bond with the substrate, and a residential install is engineered to keep that adhesion for the life of the floor.

It depends mostly on how hard the floor gets used. A busy residential garage can go 8 to 12 years before its polyaspartic topcoat needs refreshing, and the base resin stays bonded the whole time. Commercial systems are spec’d for their traffic and chemistry, with 10 to 25 years typical on the resin layer.

Can you match a specific color?

With metallic epoxy, almost certainly. The pigments mix to any color, and past floors have included copper over bronze, ocean blue veined with charcoal, and plain black.

Quartz has 14 standard colors, and we can mix a custom one if none of them fit. Flake works the same way: start from a pre-blended pack or build your own blend. On decorative concrete, color is either mixed into the pour or stained on after it cures.

How does the install process actually work?

Your part is mostly on day one, when we walk the space together and test the slab for moisture. After that the crew takes over: grinding to a CSP-3 profile and crack repair on day two, the pour and broadcast on day three, the polyaspartic topcoat on day four. You come back in for the final inspection and keep the written job spec we hand you.

What happens after the floor is poured?

Most of what decides how the floor ages happened on prep day, before the pour. Once it cures, the floor mostly takes care of itself: the base resin stays bonded to the substrate for the life of the floor, and only the gloss layer on top ever gets a second visit from us.

Upkeep is a mop and a bucket of water. The topcoat carries the protection, so you never roll on sealer or schedule a yearly wax.

What makes Concrete 2 Coatings different from other contractors?

Most contractors in LA do one thing. We are licensed and trained in three: resinous coatings, decorative concrete and structural slabs, so a cracked slab under your coating does not get handed off to someone else. The owner walks each job and shows up on prep days, and the prep itself (grind to CSP-3, HEPA-vacuum, grind again) never gets cut.
