Metallic Epoxy in Irvine.

The show floor. Metallic pigment suspended in clear resin moves across the slab as it cures, so every pour reads like poured stone or liquid metal, and no two are alike. It is the most-photographed system in our gallery, and Irvine’s clean newer slabs make it shine. Woodbridge, Turtle Rock, Quail Hill, the Great Park Neighborhoods, and the rest of the villages.

Why metallic suits Irvine

A metallic floor is honest about the slab beneath it. The high-gloss surface telegraphs every ripple, trowel mark, and patched crack, which is why a rough older slab is the wrong canvas for it. Irvine is the opposite problem: because the city was built out from the 1970s forward, most garage and interior slabs are young, flat, and structurally sound. That clean substrate is exactly what a metallic floor wants. More Irvine slabs qualify for a flawless metallic finish, without heavy grinding and patching, than in any of our older Los Angeles markets.

Where Irvine clients put it

  • Display garages and car-collection bays in Turtle Rock and Quail Hill
  • Finished garage gyms and hobby rooms where the door rolls up for entertaining
  • Interior accent floors, entryways, and home-office spaces inside newer Great Park homes
  • Retail and showroom floors where the surface itself is part of the brand

How the swirl is made

We diamond-grind the slab to a CSP-3 profile and repair any control-joint cracks, then roll a pigmented base. The metallic coat goes down wet and the crew works it with rollers, brushes, and air to pull the veining and cells into the look you picked on the walkthrough. Once it cures, two coats of clear UV-stable polyaspartic lock in the depth and the gloss.

Irvine pricing and timeline

Cost: Priced per square foot installed, above flake for the added artistry. The finish complexity and topcoat tier set where you land in that band.

Timeline: two to three working days for a typical two-car garage. Color selection is the slow part of the proposal; the install itself is straightforward.

Lifespan: lifetime adhesion on the base resin, with a polyaspartic refresh at the 10 to 15 year mark on a working garage. An interior display floor often goes longer.

What Irvine clients choose.

A few patterns that come up on most metallic walkthroughs across the Irvine villages.

Deep ocean-blue metallic epoxy color option for an Irvine garage

The popular palettes

Across Irvine, the most-requested metallic colors lean cool and architectural: ocean blue with charcoal veining, graphite-on-pewter, and a matte-slate look for clients who want depth without high shine. Warmer copper-on-bronze shows up in Spanish-revival and mediterranean elevations. Pigment mixes to any color in the spectrum, and the owner brings sample boards so you can judge the swirl in your own garage light.

Metallic epoxy garage floor matched to interior architecture in Irvine

Display-garage culture

Newer Irvine homes treat the garage as a finished room. We pour a lot of metallic into spaces that double as a car-collection showcase, a motorcycle room, or a finished gym with the door rolled up. On those jobs the floor is meant to be seen, which is exactly where metallic earns its premium over a flatter flake or solid-color system.

South-facing Irvine garage with UV-stable metallic topcoat

Sun and the topcoat

Irvine gets a long dry-sun season, and a south-facing garage door open all afternoon puts real UV on the floor. A bare epoxy topcoat would amber over time. We seal every metallic floor under UV-stable polyaspartic so the color you approved is the color it holds. That is non-negotiable on any floor that sees direct sun, and most Irvine garages do.

If a metallic floor is not the right call for the space, here are the other systems we install across Irvine.

Questions before the call.

How fast can you pour metallic epoxy in Irvine?

Irvine is well inside our pour radius from the Los Angeles shop. Walkthroughs schedule three to seven days out, residential pours book about four weeks out. Crews reach any Irvine village via I-405, I-5, and CA-55. The color decision tends to add a day or two to the front of the schedule, which we factor into the proposal.

What does metallic epoxy cost in Irvine?

A residential metallic system is priced per square foot installed and sits above flake for the added artistry. The number moves with finish complexity, topcoat tier, and the condition of the slab. Most Irvine slabs are newer and flat, so prep stays light and a larger share of floors come in toward the middle of the band rather than the top.

We write a fixed-price proposal after the on-site walkthrough so there are no change orders mid-pour. The walkthrough is free, takes about 30 minutes, and the proposal lands in your inbox the next morning.

Is my Irvine slab smooth enough for metallic?

Usually, yes, and more often than in older markets. A metallic floor magnifies every flaw in the slab, so it needs a flat, sound substrate. Because Irvine was built from the 1970s forward, most garage and interior slabs are young, level, and in good condition, which is ideal for metallic. We confirm it on the walkthrough by checking flatness and running a calibrated moisture test before recommending the system.

Will the metallic color fade in the sun?

Not with our build. Bare epoxy can amber under UV, which is a real concern on a south-facing Irvine garage that bakes all afternoon. We seal every metallic floor under UV-stable polyaspartic, so the color and gloss you approved are what the floor holds over the years.

Day to day it cleans with a damp mop, no waxing and no resealing.

Can you match a specific color or look?

Yes. Metallic pigment mixes to any color in the spectrum, and the swirl is shaped by hand during the pour. We have poured deep teal, ocean blue with charcoal veining, copper-on-bronze, mother-of-pearl, matte slate, and just-black. Bring a reference photo or a material sample and the owner will work toward it on the walkthrough with sample boards.

Metallic or flake for my Irvine garage?

Choose metallic when the garage is a clean, display-forward space: a car collection, a finished gym, a room meant to be seen. The gloss depth and unique swirl are worth the premium there. Choose flake when the garage is a hard-working bay with daily drivers, a shop bench, and water and dirt tracked in, because the flake texture adds traction and hides wear.

The owner gives a straight read on the walkthrough based on how the space actually gets used.
